Who Wore It Best: Rihanna vs. Beyonce in Matthew Williamson

Red Carpet Fashion Awards noted that Rihanna and Beyonce seem to be taking style notes from each other, sporting Matthew Williamsom’s gathered leather coat on different occasions:

Rihanna fashioned the coat into a dress for an NYC outing late last month while Beyonce chose to rock the trench with a dress and wedge heels.

Who Wore It Best: Beyonce vs. Lala in Alice + Olivia’s Army Green Wrapped Goddess Dress

Beyonce landed in London recently wearing the same $264 Alice + Olivia Army Green Wrapped Goddess Dress Lala chose for a date night with Carmelo:

While Bey jazzed her version up with a gray belt, chain strap purse, and hot green shoes, Lala went the classic route in gold sandals, a metallic minaudiere, and a stunning bib necklace.

Though Beyonce might be at a bit of a disadvantage having just hopped off a plane, I think I prefer her choice of accessories. She’s not at all matchy-matchy, but the forest green shoes and complementary belt totally work. Lala looks lovely of course, but I think Beyonce brought the dress to life.

Who Wore it Best: Melody Thornton vs. Beyonce

Melody Thornton and Beyonce don’t normally have similar taste, but overlapped a bit with this figure flattering embellished number:

While Beyonce wore the black version with gold platform pumps and red lipstick for MTV’s Europe Music Awards, Melody opted for white for the American Music Awards and paired hers with black booties, a smoky eye, and nude lipstick.

The dress is indisputably hot, but who wore it better?

Rihanna first rocked the dress when she did the September cover of Vogue Italia in 2009, then Beyonce wore it while shutting down the 52nd annual Grammy’s stage earlier this year and rocked it with Guiseppe Zanotti booties, and even after all of that, Steve Harvey’s wife Marjorie Harvey wore it recently while attending the 8th annual Hoodie Awards.
